We are now seeking a full-time WHS Advisor to support our People, Safety and Culture Team.

Work Health and Safety Advisor

  • Working and consulting with the business to create a safe and productive working environment.
  • Driving a simplified, proactive, risk based and collaborative safety culture.
  • Ensuring WHSE KPI’s, policies and procedures comply with all applicable legislation and standards and are integrated into the Sci-Fleet safety culture.

To be successful for this role you must have:

Knowledge and qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of WHS and Environmental legislation including Codes of Practice
  • Sound knowledge of relevant standards
  • Expertise in workplace incident investigation
  • Review WHSE success measures, ensuring that they are driving the correct WHSE culture.

Skills and experience:

  • Minimum 1 years of WHSE experience in a commercial environment (workshop or factory highly regarded)
  • Demonstrated ability to Identify and assess risks and ensure legal compliance.
  • Ability to provide advice and guidance to managers and employees on WHS matters pertaining to the prevention of accidents
  • Previous experience/involvement in achieving WHSE cultural change.
  • Previous proven experience in managing and working with an integrated safety management system
  • Experience in implementing new safety methodologies and initiatives
  • Strong Interpersonal skills:- communication, negotiation, influencing, listening, empathy and flexibility
  • Commercial understanding
  • Proven problem solving ability
  • Project management, organisational and planning skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Other suitable duties, consistent with the duties and responsibilities of the position as directed by the Head of People, Safety and Culture or nominated delegate including supporting Injury Management / Return to Work Advisors and / or the Quality Team.
