Sci-Fleet Hino have an opportunity for a 1st Year Apprentice Heavy Vehicle Technician to join our Nerang Service Centre. As a leader in the Australian medium duty truck market we pride ourselves on both customer service and quality.

About the Apprenticeship

• Earn while you learn in this four (4) year apprenticeship and obtain a AUR31120 - Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology through TAFE QLD
• Receive a dedicated mentor through the duration of your apprenticeship
• Suitable for qualified Light Vehicle Technicians looking to upskil
• Light Vehicle technicians will be paid as fully qualified technicians for the duration of their apprenticeship

Reporting to the Service Manager, Workshop Supervisor/Foreperson and working alongside other highly skilled and motivated employees. You will learn and acquire the skills to complete for the following:

• Inspect defective equipment and diagnose malfunctions using the appropriate test instruments
• Disassemble and overhaul various components
• Recondition and replace parts
• Repair and maintain automotive and mechanical equipment
• Read job orders and observe operating equipment to determine faults
• Undertake preventative maintenance
• Comply with pre-determined maintenance schedules
• Maintain a clean and tidy work space at all times
• Adhere to safe working practices at all times
