Sci-Fleet Motors
History
Sci-Fleet Motors began in the 1970's with the establishment of two small Toyota franchises located at Windsor and Kedron. The dealerships were centered around a strong focus on understanding and meeting the customer’s individual needs.
In 1990, Sci-Fleet acquired the Lexus franchise for South-East Queensland, opening above the Toyota dealership at Kedron. The small dealership started with only one model – the LS400. While luxury car brands like BMW and Mercedes had the advantage of 100 years history behind them, the Lexus brand has come to cement itself in the prestige car market. One year later, saw a new challenge, with the acquisition of a Hino truck franchise, located at Kedron. Daihatsu, another product from the Toyota Motor Corporation was also acquired in 2002, which meant that Sci-Fleet was the first and only dealer to have all four worldwide products under the one umbrella.
In the years to come, the growing demand for the Toyota, Lexus and Hino vehicles saw an extra three Lexus dealerships opened at Southport, Indooroopilly and Fortitude Valley. Sci-Fleet acquired the Leo Muller Toyota franchise at Albion, and a second Hino dealership was opened up at Coopers Plains to offer improved facilities and services to truck clients. 2006 saw the opening of yet another Toyota dealership in Taringa, reinforcing Sci-Fleet’s place as the largest selling Toyota dealer in Australia.
While this small family company was beginning to grow, it still kept an emphasis on the values that the company was founded on. Over 25 years has passed since the original dealership opened, and these values still continue to be the foundation of the company’s culture. It’s a company with a strong people focus, and on building strong and honest relationships amongst both the staff and the customers. It’s also about knowing your product, and being passionate about what you do.
This philosophy has attributed much to the success of Sci-Fleet, who over the past 29 years has become Australia’s largest dealer, and the 15th largest Toyota dealership in the world. The high achievements in volume and customer satisfaction that Sci-Fleet has been awarded can only be attributed to the collective efforts of all the employees of Sci-Fleet.
